Lautaro Martínez Breaks Silence on Julián Álvarez’s Barcelona Transfer Drama
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez has revealed that he personally reached out to Julián Álvarez following the Argentine striker’s failed attempt to join Barcelona.
Alvarez was one of the biggest stories of the transfer window after Barcelona made their interest clear, while the Atletico Madrid forward reportedly wanted the move to Catalonia.

The Inter striker revealed that he had already contacted Alvarez privately to offer his support.
“I spoke with him, sent him a message, and showed him my support.”
Lautaro also stressed that despite competing for places in Argentina’s attack, their relationship goes beyond football.
“Beyond the fact that we play the same position and compete for a spot on the national team, he’s a friend.”

The Inter captain ended his comments by wishing Alvarez well and backing him to continue proving his quality on the pitch.
“I wish him the best and hope he gets well soon and continues to prove what he’s shown so far—that he’s one of the best players in the world.”
