Jesse Bisiwu Names the Barcelona Star Who Has Impressed Him Most

Barcelona youngster Jesse Bisiwu has revealed the player who has made the biggest impression on him since arriving at the Catalan club.

The 18-year-old winger joined Barça during the summer from Club Brugge in a deal worth €8.5 million plus potential add-ons, despite never making a senior appearance for the Belgian side.

Bisiwu has signed a contract running until June 2031 and caught attention during pre-season. However, he is still waiting for his official first-team debut.

Bisiwu Picks Raphinha as His Role Model

While away with Belgium's Under-21 squad, Bisiwu spoke to RTL Sports about his early experiences at Barcelona.

When asked which teammate had impressed him most, the teenager immediately pointed to Barcelona captain Raphinha.

“The player who has impressed me most is Raphinha, the way he plays and the way he trains, always giving 100%. It's crazy and I'm impressed with Raphinha. He's a role model for me.”

Raphinha's work ethic and intensity in training have clearly caught the youngster's attention, with Bisiwu identifying the Brazilian as someone he can learn from as he develops.

Pedri and Yamal Get Technical Praise

Bisiwu was also asked to identify the most technically gifted player inside the Barcelona dressing room.

Rather than selecting one player, the Belgian youngster named two of the club's biggest stars.

“I'd say Pedri or Lamine.”

The response highlights the impression made by both Pedri and Lamine Yamal on a player who has only recently entered the first-team environment.

Bisiwu Enjoying His Start at Barcelona

The teenager also spoke positively about his adaptation to life at one of Europe's biggest clubs.

According to Bisiwu, the reception from his teammates and coaching staff has made the transition considerably easier.

“Very well, they've welcomed me very well. I've been able to speak with the captain and the coach and I've felt very comfortable.”

He admitted that joining Barcelona has also changed the way he is viewed professionally.

“Yes, I feel a change in status because arriving at Barça, signing for Barça, isn't a minor thing and I've been able to feel that impact.”

Belgium Remains His International Focus

Despite having Ghanaian heritage and holding dual nationality, Bisiwu is currently concentrating on Belgium's Under-21 setup.

Asked about his international future, he kept his response straightforward:

“I'm focused on the U-21s at the moment.”

He also revealed that Belgium senior coach Marc van Bommel has already spoken to him about the possibility of stepping up to the senior team.

“He told me to be ready, that he sees me as ready, but we'll see in the future.”

Waiting for His Barcelona Debut

Bisiwu is yet to make his competitive debut for Barcelona's senior side, but he continues to train around the first team while gaining valuable match experience with Barça Atlètic.

The winger started Barcelona's recent matches against Logroñés B and Barbastro, giving him an opportunity to continue his development while waiting for his chance at senior level.

For now, Bisiwu appears focused on learning from players such as Raphinha, Pedri and Yamal while adapting to the demands of life at Barcelona.
