Confirmed: Five Barcelona Players Start for Spain Against England at Wembley
Spain have named their starting XI for their UEFA Nations League clash against England at Wembley, with five Barcelona players included in Luis de la Fuente’s lineup.
The fixture marks Spain’s first competitive match since their dramatic 1-0 victory over Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, which secured another major international title for La Roja.
With the Nations League campaign now getting underway, De la Fuente has selected a strong side for the trip to London.

Barcelona are heavily represented in the starting XI, with five of the seven Barça players called up for this international window earning places in the team.
Rodri, Spain’s World Cup-winning captain and Golden Ball recipient, starts in midfield alongside Fabian Ruiz.
That means Barcelona midfielder Pedri has been given a rest and begins the match on the bench.
At the back, Eric García starts at right-back, while Pau Cubarsí returns to the centre of defence.
Cubarsí resumes his partnership with Aymeric Laporte, the same defensive pairing that played a key role during Spain’s successful World Cup campaign.

Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo Also Start
Further forward, Dani Olmo has been selected in the attacking midfield role.
The Barcelona playmaker gets the nod ahead of Fermín López, who starts the match among the substitutes.
Lamine Yamal completes the Barcelona contingent in the starting XI, taking his usual position on the right wing.
The teenage superstar will be one of Spain’s main attacking outlets as they look to begin their Nations League campaign with a positive result.
Former Barcelona forward Ferran Torres leads the line as the central striker, while Athletic Club winger Nico Williams starts on the opposite flank.
Spain Begin Life After World Cup Triumph
The match carries additional significance for Spain as it represents their first game since lifting the World Cup in the United States.
De la Fuente will be hoping his team can maintain the momentum generated by their historic triumph, although England provide a major test at Wembley.
With five Barcelona players in the starting lineup, Barça supporters will have plenty of reason to follow the action closely.
