Barcelona Scout €60 Million-Rated Fulham Wonderkid as Chelsea and Liverpool Join Race – Report
Barcelona have reportedly added Fulham teenager Josh King to their list of emerging talents, with the Catalan giants closely monitoring the midfielder’s impressive development in the Premier League.
According to reports in England, relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Barça scouts have watched King several times during the 2026/27 campaign and have been impressed by what they have seen.
The 19-year-old has made a strong start to the season and is quickly attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Josh King Impressing in the Premier League
King is a product of Fulham’s academy and has established himself as an increasingly important part of the first-team setup.
The young midfielder has already made five Premier League appearances this season, scoring twice.
He also featured once in the Carabao Cup and provided an assist.
His breakthrough is particularly notable considering his age and the fact that he has already accumulated 55 senior appearances for Fulham since making his first-team debut in 2024.
King has also represented England at Under-21 level, making nine appearances and scoring once.
His rapid progression has inevitably attracted interest from clubs looking for the next generation of elite talent.
Barcelona Facing Major Competition
Barcelona are reportedly among the clubs showing the strongest interest in King, although they are far from alone.
Chelsea and Liverpool are both said to be monitoring the midfielder, while Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Inter Milan and Atlético Madrid have also been linked with the teenager.
For Barcelona, King represents the type of young player the club has increasingly targeted: a talented prospect with significant room for development rather than an established star demanding a huge immediate investment.

Fulham Value King at Around €60 Million
One of the biggest obstacles could be Fulham’s asking price.
King is reportedly under contract with the London club until 2029 and is valued at approximately €60 million.
Despite the teenager's potential, Barcelona are not currently prepared to spend that amount on him.
The club are not considering a January move and are also not planning to meet the reported valuation next summer at this stage.
More importantly, there has been no direct contact between Barcelona and King.
The current situation is therefore best described as a scouting operation rather than an active transfer negotiation.
Barcelona Want to See How King Develops
Barcelona's interest is focused on monitoring King's progress and determining whether he can continue developing at the same pace.
The club have become increasingly careful when investing in young players, particularly when their asking prices reach significant levels.
King certainly fits the profile Barcelona like, but Barça will want to see considerably more before committing to a major financial operation.
For now, the message is simple: Barcelona are watching Josh King, but they are not preparing a €60 million transfer.
With Chelsea, Liverpool and several other European giants also keeping an eye on the teenager, King's development at Fulham could become one of the more interesting young-player stories to follow over the coming months.
If his performances continue to improve, however, Barcelona may eventually have to decide whether to make their interest more concrete before the competition becomes even stronger.
