Karim Adeyemi Arrives in Barcelona Ahead of Completing Summer Transfer

Karim Adeyemi has taken the final step towards becoming a Barcelona player after arriving in the Catalan capital ahead of completing his transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

The Germany international landed at Barcelona-El Prat Airport on Wednesday afternoon and is now expected to finalize the remaining formalities before officially joining Hansi Flick’s squad for the 2026/27 season.

His arrival marks another significant milestone in Barcelona’s summer rebuild, with the club moving quickly to strengthen its attacking options before the new campaign begins.

Warm Welcome Awaits Adeyemi

Adeyemi arrived in Barcelona on a private flight from Dortmund, accompanied by members of his family and close friends.

After landing at the airport’s private terminal shortly after 4:30 p.m., the 24-year-old briefly acknowledged the media waiting for him before leaving the airport.

The forward appeared excited as he prepared to begin the next chapter of his career with the club he has admired since childhood.

Barcelona organized a discreet but well-coordinated reception for their new signing, with several club vehicles waiting to transport Adeyemi and his entourage.

Security personnel, including members of the Mossos d'Esquadra, were also present to oversee the player's arrival.

Medical and Contract Signing Scheduled

According to reports from Spain, Adeyemi will undergo his medical examination on Thursday before signing the documents that will officially complete the transfer.

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund worth an initial €22 million, with an additional €7 million included through performance-related bonuses.

As part of the deal, Dortmund have also secured 30 percent of any future capital gain should Barcelona eventually sell the player.

Once the paperwork is finalized, Adeyemi will sign a five-year contract that will keep him at Camp Nou until the summer of 2031.

Flick Ready to Integrate New Signing

Hansi Flick is expected to integrate Adeyemi into the squad immediately.

The Barcelona coach has known the German forward for several years, having handed him his senior international debut with Germany in 2021.

Flick believes Adeyemi's explosive pace, ability to attack defenders in one-on-one situations, and versatility across the front line will add a new dimension to Barcelona's attack.

If everything proceeds according to schedule, the winger could join his new teammates for Friday's training session as pre-season preparations continue.

Official Presentation Planned for Next Week

Although the transfer is expected to become official once the medical and contract signing are completed, Barcelona will delay Adeyemi's formal presentation until next week.

Club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco are currently in the United States attending the FIFA World Cup and are expected to return after Sunday's final.

Their arrival back in Barcelona will allow the club to organize an official unveiling for the German international.

A New Chapter Begins

After months of speculation surrounding his future, Adeyemi is now on the verge of becoming a Barcelona player.

The move represents a fresh opportunity for one of Germany's most talented attackers, while Barcelona gain another dynamic option for Hansi Flick's evolving squad.

With only the final formalities remaining, Adeyemi's long-awaited move to Camp Nou is now just a matter of time.
